Chikara Sugano

Chikara Sugano was born in 1989 in Shizuoka, Japan and started playing flute at the age of 15. He studied in Senzokugakuen Collage of music(Kawasaki, Japan), Zurich University of the Arts under guidance of Kyoko Ueda, Prof. Maria Goldschmidt, Sabine Poyé Morél, Jun Sugawara, and Haika Lübcke. Due to his excellent performance at the all of graduation exam. He was selected as a young talented representative for the final concert in the academy and YAMAHA concert since 2014.

He won First Prizes in “Shizuoka Flute Competition” (March, 2011, Shizuoka, Japan), “Les Clé d'Or 2015” (2015, Paris, France), “Slovenia International Music Competition” (year, place, Slovenia, won a special prize as well), and Treviso International Music Competition(Italy).

As a solist he played with Opera I Filharmonia Podlaska(Poland), Sinfonietta Shizuoka, and Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra.

He currently performs in Zurich Oper and Berner Symphonieorchester as Academy, Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden, Argovia Philharmonic, Prague Royal Philharmonic, Janacek Philharmonie Ostrava, Münchner Symphoniker as an assistant.

Since September 2019 Chikara Sugano is Principal Flute of The Alba Regia Symphony Orchestra(Hungary).
